VICTORIA – Workers in the Vanderhoof area are benefiting from over $153,000 through the Job Opportunities Program for a hazard tree assessment and falling project in Finger-Tatuk Provincial Park announced Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad.
VICTORIA – Workers in the Prince George area are benefiting from more than $1.1 million being invested in a series of projects through the Job Opportunities Program.
CRANBROOK – An investment of more than $12.4 million in 25 projects through the Community Adjustment Fund and the Job Opportunities Program will help organizations and groups throughout the province of British Columbia to create immediate employment in all industry sectors and communities impacted by the economic downturn.
KAMLOOPS – Workers in several Thompson-Nicola area communities will benefit from more than $580,000 in funding to undertake building and safety projects and create employment through the Job Opportunities Program, Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Terry Lake announced on behalf of Bill Bennett, Minister of Community and Rural Development.
VICTORIA – Workers in the community of Cranbrook are benefiting from close to $140,000 through the Job Opportunities Program for an invasive plant management and fuel reduction project, announced Minister of Community and Rural Development Bill Bennett.
VICTORIA – Out-of-work resource workers will benefit from close to $500,000 in Job Opportunities Program funds to carry out urban tree planting, mountain pine beetle surveying, and range fence clearing, repairs and removal in the Kootenay Boundary regional district.
VICTORIA – Workers in the community of Valemount are benefiting from close to $170,000 through the Job Opportunities Program for a fuel management, hazard abatement and pine beetle mitigation project that is creating immediate employment for 12 workers.
VICTORIA – Eight local government employees from communities across British Columbia, recognized for their education and work experience in the local government field, are being awarded the following certificates by the provincial Board of Examiners.
SMITHERS – Workers in the Skeena Stikine forest district are benefitting from more than $140,000 in funding to upgrade a trail site and create employment through the Job Opportunities Program.
WILLIAMS LAKE – Cariboo workers will benefit from more than $500,000 in funding to carry out projects which are creating immediate employment through the Job Opportunities Program.
